TUV nel

TUV NEL agreed to witness the testing of the Vortex at Alpha Heating Innovation and to prepare a report providing an independent opinion. Report shows a saving of approximately 15%.

University Of St Andrews

University of St Andrews installed a Vortex in one of their museum buildings in August 2011. Results between April 2011 to July 2012 showed an average reduction in energy consumption of 27%.

Lister Housing Cooperative

Lister Housing Cooperative installed a Vortex in a  6 bed 3 storey Georgian terrace with a Non Condensing Boiler. After the installation of Vortex and re-commissioning, within 20 minutes the boiler setting was reduced by 20%.

Notting Hill Housing Trust installed a Vortex in a large 6 bedroom Victorian terrace town house with a condensing system boiler. Results showed an average reduction in energy consumption of 15% possibly 20% on heating costs.

Nottingham

A heating engineer in Nottingham installed a new condensing, within the past 12 months he had failed to rectify noise from the pump and problems with air present in the system.  After installing the Vortex the noise stopped, there was no more air in the system and recorded energy savings of 28.5%.

Driving Standards Agency initially installed 4 Vortex’s at specific test sites. Since the initial tests 100 Vortex’s have been installed across 98 sites. The average savings across the test sites was 19%.

Emotion Energy installed a Vortex in 2009 on the 12kw air source heat pump. Following installation the primary system reached a temperature of 70◦C up from the usual limit of 55◦C.

Newtownabbey Case Study

Mr Perris installed a Vortex in 2007 in his four bedroom 3,800 sq foot detached property built in 2000 with a Oil Fired Bosch Boiler. Before installation the radiators required bleeding every week. Since they have not needed bleeding at all and energy savings have been around 25%.

Mr Robinson has a spacious four bedroom detached house with an open vent Glow Worm 85-100 boiler. A Vortex was installed in November 2009, Mr Robison has since advised that they are saving approximately £30.00 per winter month due to the Vortex and their house is more comfortable and that the heating is quieter.

Thorpe Case Study

Mr Adams had a Vortex installed in March 2008 and a follow up call a few days after revealed that the Vortex had immediately rendered the system very quiet. The plumber turned down the main boiler thermostat by 10°C and the domestic hot water slightly. They received a £40 rebate back from NPower in their September 2008 statement.

Whitly Bay Case Study

Mr Westall has a gas fired system that had problems of banging and rattling and half the radiators were not heating properly and the other half were too hot. Since installing the Vortex the whole system is now running almost silently, the house warms up as never before and the owner is convinced that his gas bills will be lower.

York Case Study

Native Chartered Architects installed a Gilles 30kW Bio-mass pellet boiler. Following the installation a Vortex the thermostat had to be reduced by 10°C, underfloor heating has been set to minimum and thermostatic radiator valves have been turned down from 5 to 2. Radiators that previously were lukewarm have now properly heated up for the first time.
